The Dimensional Metrology & Analysis Engineer is responsible for supporting the construction of large-scale welded metal structures. This role joins the existing Accuracy Control team and is focused on leveraging advanced metrology tools, such as Spatial Analyzer (SA) and lasertracker systems, to validate measurement accuracy, interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) datasets, and mitigate fabrication risks through documentation and statistical analysis. The position requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes, procedural sequences, and measurement methodologies. The Engineer is responsible for ensuring adherence to established processes and standards to maintain consistency, repeatability, and compliance throughout all build stages.The ideal candidate will validate SA model fit, interpret deviations, and use structured data to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions. This position bridges the gap between raw measurement data and strategic engineering decisions---supporting both in-processproduction and continuous improvement initiatives.What You Will Be Doing- Review and validate 3D measurement models created in Spatial Analyzer for fit accuracy, coordinate system logic, and reference relationships- Analyze GD&T-driven datasets comparing actual measurements to drawing specifications, identifying meaningful deviations across evolving build stages- Apply and interpret statistical analysis models to detect trends in measurement data, including frequency, severity, and progression patterns across subassemblies- Translate data trends into practical recommendations for corrective action, including rework guidance, remeasurement, or procedural adjustments- Monitor the applicability and consistency of fabrication sequence procedures, confirming alignment with measurement intent and recommending updates where necessary- Document findings and notes regarding measurement data, and track trade disposition process- Construct automated Excel/VBA tools to manage progression tracking, deviation scoring, and key performance indicators- Prepare and distribute weekly reports summarizing dimensional risk areas, root cause investigations, and recommendations- Serve as the liaison between measurement technicians, planning engineers, shop floor teams, and senior leadership- Additional duties as assignedYour Background u00a0- High School Diploma or Similar + 2-years' experience required- B.S. in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and/or previous metrology experience; background in mathematics, data analytics, or fabrication engineering preferred- Technical Expertise: - Knowledge of GD&T principles and dimensio al tolerance analysis - Familiarity with laser tracker systems, and CAD software logic - Familiarity with Metrology software (Spatial Analyzer (SA) preferred) - Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions, graphical reporting- Construction/Fabrication Knowledge: - Understanding of welded structure fabrication practices, weld distortion mechanics, and construction sequencing logic - Ability to interpret technician notes, disposition records, and field feedback - Technical writing and reporting capabilities- Collaboration and Team Communication: - Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills across various disciplines, trades, and management audiencesThe Work Environment at Rhoads- The performance of this position involves exposure to construction or industrial areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hard hats and hearing protection is required.What Rhoads Can Offer YouAt Rhoads Industries, our team is the foundation of our success.
