Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Tampa, Florida. In this role, you will play a key part in managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and skilled in overseeing complex accounting functions while contributing to strategic financial planning. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee daily corporate accounting functions, including general ledger activities, accounts payable and receivable, expense tracking, and invoicing. u2022 Process biweekly payroll for approximately 50 employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while maintaining accuracy in deductions and benefits. u2022 Manage expense reimbursements and meal plan transactions by reviewing submissions, verifying documentation, and ensuring timely payments. u2022 Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and creating supporting schedules. u2022 Compile and analyze internal financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports to support organizational decision-making. u2022 Ensure compliance with tax regulations and company policies, maintaining accuracy and integrity in all financial reporting. u2022 Coordinate annual audits and tax filings, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors and advisors. u2022 Develop and enhance financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve workflows and accountability. u2022 Collaborate with senior leadership to monitor cash flow, manage expenditures, and provide insights into profitability and performance. u2022 Oversee accounting systems and tools to optimize processes for billing, expense management, and financial reporting. Requirements u2022 Extensive experience in month-end closing processes and financial reporting. u2022 Proficiency in general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation. u2022 Strong skills in account and bank reconciliations. u2022 Ability to manage payroll processes with accuracy and compliance. u2022 Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. u2022 Knowledge of tax regulations and audit coordination. u2022 Familiarity with implementing and improving financial policies and controls. u2022 Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and software tools.
