Job Summary: As a member of the healthcareteam, collaborates with the surgical team to provide care for patientinsuring that the goals of the patients are met and the mission of thehospital is carried out. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: A minimum of 1 year asa Surgical Technologist experience is required (The one year may includea combination of Surgical Technician experience or Surgical Externexperience. Please note, one year or more of surgical extern work willbe credited as up to 6 months experience for the one year ofTechnologist experience). EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High School Diploma orequivalent is required. Post high school education, certification ordiploma required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program,completion of Military Operating Room Specialist course or the FroedtertHealth sponsored apprentice II program required. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:Certification as a Surgical Technologist. Surgical Technologist Level 3staff, or above, with a date of hire or adjusted date of hire prior to8/1/2020 are not required to be certified, as long as they meet thecriteria in the job description. American Heart Association (AHA) BasicLife Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approvedequivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
