JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: Exciting opportunity to work inthe Emergency Department at the only Adult Level 1 Trauma Center inSoutheastern WI, allowing us to provide emergency patients withunmatched resources for lifesaving care The Medical College ofWisconsin's Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a NursePractitioner or Physician Assistant to support the Emergency MedicineServices at Froedtert Hospital ED, Froedtert Menomonee Falls ED,Froedtert West Bend ED, Froedtert New Berlin ED, and Froedtert Oak CreekED. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as a member of amultidisciplinary health care team who will contribute to excellence inprogram administration, patient care, patient safety, research, qualityimprovement, and teaching. The Ideal Candidate exudes strong clinicaland critical-thinking skills, is a collaborative/team player, excited tobe a part of a fast-paced ED setting, and wants to be part of a thrivingand very collaborative academic practice at the Medical College ofWisconsin (MCW). In this role, you will: Collaborate withinterdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis and treatment ofconditions requiring intervention in emergency environment as a memberof the Department of Emergency Medicine. Evaluate quality outcomes forthe patients receiving care of this team through participation in thedevelopment of quality indicators and outcomes dashboard. Performsadvanced procedures consistent with privileges and competencyvalidation, including but not limited to suturing, splinting, andincision and drainage of abscesses. Facilitates referral of patients toappropriate community health care resources in collaboration with socialservices, case management and financial counseling services. CoreAdvanced Practice Responsibilities Perform comprehensive histories andphysical exams, identifies normal and abnormal findings, includingphysical, cognitive and psychosocial status. Order, perform, andinterpret screening and diagnostic procedures and tests, andappropriately communicates and documents information Write accurate andtimely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transferorders Develop pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans.Monitor effectiveness of plan of care Educate patients on disease andtreatment plans. Perform procedures as trained and appropriatelycredentialed. Document within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) andcompletes other necessary documents.
