The RCP 1demonstrates competencies in respiratory assessments and procedures forall patient populations and age groups. The RCP 1 performs and interactsas a healthcare professional administering respiratory care proceduresin acute care and critical care areas. The RCP 1 demonstrates competencyas outlined in the RCP I COT. The RCP 1 focuses on developing criticalthinking skills. Under the direction of the Pulmonary ServicesLeadership team, provides professional respiratory care to patients inaccordance with the hospital's policies and procedures. EXPERIENCEDESCRIPTION: Successful completion of all clinical rotations forrespiratory therapy program is required. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:Associate Degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program isrequired. Bachelor degree is preferred. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: State ofWisconsin license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner is required.American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for HealthcareProvider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required. RegisteredRespiratory Therapist (RRT) for the National Board of Respiratory Care(NBRC) is required within 12 months of hire. American Heart Association(AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within 6 monthsof hire. American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) and WisconsinSociety for Respiratory Care (WSRC) membership is preferred. Advancedcertification with crisis de-escalation (MANDT), Hospital HazMat, orspecial pathogens is preferred.
