FTE: 0.600000 Standard Hours: 24.00 Shift: Shift2, 1500 - 0300 with every third weekend rotation and holiday rotation.Our state-of-the-art Emergency Department is the areas only adult Level1 Trauma Center. It features a 4-bed Trauma Bay, 55 general ED beds, anda busy triage area, supported by specialized staffing includingdedicated Arena Teams (4 RNs, 2 Techs, 1 Paramedic) and Trauma teams (4RNs, 1 Tech, 1 Paramedic). Nursing-to-patient ratios are thoughtfullyadjusted based on care areas to ensure optimal patient outcomes in thisdynamic, high-acuity environment. Job Summary: The Registered Nurse is a practitionerwho is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluatingnursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatientenvironment. This individual demonstrates competency in delivery of careto a primarily adult population. The Staff RN-Inpatient job descriptionhas incorporated essential functions which are adapted from the ANANursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010). Otherinformation: EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Clinical competence and experiencein the care and management of target patient populations specific toarea of employment. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Professional knowledge ofnursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired throughcompletion of education at an accredited School of Nursing in order tobe eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse is required. Upon hireany non-BSN nurse with less than one year of licensed registered nurseexperience will be required to enroll in a BSN (or higher nursingdegree) program. Acceptance into a program is expected within 15 monthsof hire and the degree program must be completed within 5 years ofenrollment, or 6 years if program is MSN, DNP or PhD in Nursing.Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or aMulti-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (NurseLicensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Supportfor the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent isrequired within 90 days of hire. American Heart Association (AHA)Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within 6 months ofhire. Trauma Nurse course certification (TNCC) is required within oneyear of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced LifeSupport (PALS) is required within 1 year of hire. For incumbents in thisrole prior to 6/1/2023 must be obtain PALs by 6/30/2024.
