Buyer Planner

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Summary: We are seeking a driven andexperienced Buyer/Planner ready to take on a dynamic role in afast-paced, performance-oriented environment. This position plays acritical part in executing purchase orders and managing strategicsourcing initiatives aimed at reducing costs, optimizing inventorylevels, and supporting daily production and on-time delivery (OTD)goals. In addition to procurement responsibilities, this role will leadproduction planning for the Delroyd Worm Gear product line. You'llcollaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute daily andweekly production schedules, proactively resolve supply and capacityconstraints, and ensure consistent delivery performance. KeyAccountabilities Executes activities related to the management purchaseorders from the intent to purchase through delivery of product,including reconciliation of Purchase Orders, Receipts, and Invoices.Expedite and defer goods and services as required. Works directly withsuppliers to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods. Works withbuyer/planners or other stakeholders to expedite material and update theERP system to reflect accurate delivery dates. Identify and executeinventory optimization initiatives and ensure appropriate levels andaccuracy of inventory planning. This includes review and calculation ofsafety stocks, Kanban quantities, order quantities, etc. Create andmanage RFQ and RFP including scope of work. Review bid proposals, quotesand make recommendations based on results of quoting analysis. Maintainrequired records such as quotes and price lists, blanket order files,supplier correspondence, and supplier performance data. Serve as a keyproblem-solver for operations, resolving delivery challenges,demand-versus-supply conflicts, and order scheduling issues. Responsiblefor supplier relationship management. Works with suppliers to establishperformance goals with respect to continuity of supply, continuousimprovement of cost, quality, and delivery. Work with the appropriatecommodity manager to utilize strategic sourcing processes to selectsuppliers based on the best combination of cost, capability, quality,reliability, delivery. Works with cross-functional teams to executechanges to supply base with minimal disruption to operations.Proactively seek cost reduction opportunities with supplier base.Responsible for timely reporting of agreed upon KPI's, Action Plans,and cost reduction results. Visit facilities as a team member to conductsupplier assessments with respect to business practices, quality ofoperations, opportunities for continuous improvement.
