JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: The Medical College ofWisconsin's Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, General OBGYN isseeking a Midwife to provide primary or specialty medical care withindefined scope of practice under the supervision of a licensed physicianand in accordance with MCW/FMLH/CHW policies and procedures. GeneralOBGYN services with an outpatient setting located in Milwaukee, WI atFroedtert Hospital & Specialty Clinic. The Certified Nurse Midwife(APRN) provides primary or speciality health care services withindefined scope of practice in collaboration with a licensed physician andin accordance with MCW/FMLH/CHW policies and procedures. APRN will beresponsible for the physical, mental, and emotional care of theirpatients during delivery. CNM will provide prenatal and postnataleducation, examine the patient during the course of the pregnancy, andassist patients in creating birth plans. APRN will also ensure thehealth and well-being of the newborn and mother during delivery. TheIdeal Candidate will be a certified and licensed Nurse Practitioner orPhysician Assistant with women's health experience wanting to be partof a thriving and very collaborative academic practice at the MedicalCollege of Wisconsin (MCW). Areas of responsibility will include, butnot be limited to providing direct patient care in an outpatientsetting. Core Midwie Responsibilities Performs comprehensive historiesand physical exams, identifies normal and abnormal findings, includingphysical, cognitive and psychosocial status. Performs comprehensivehistories and physical exams, identifies normal and abnormal findings,including physical, cognitive and psychosocial status. Orders andinterprets laboratory and diagnostic tests. Develops pharmaceutical andnon-pharmaceutical treatment plans. Monitors effectiveness of plan ofcare. Educates patients on disease and treatment plans. Performsprocedures as trained and appropriately credentialed. Documents withinthe Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and completes other necessarydocuments. Collaborates and/or consults with physicians and other healthcare providers as appropriate. Educates, counsels, and assists patientsand families regarding current health problems, health maintenanceactivities and preventive behaviors.
