JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: The Medical College ofWisconsin's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a NursePractitioner or Physician Assistant to provide primary or specialtymedical care within defined scope of practice under the supervision of alicensed physician and in accordance with MCW/FMLH/CHW policies andprocedures. This is located at FMLH, FMFH, FWBH, MF ASC, CommunityPhysician Clinics. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works as part ofa multidisciplinary health care team, providing a broad range ofdiagnostic and therapeutic services for the patients of the blendedservices as a member of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. The APPwill be adept at covering a variety of Orthopaedic subspecialties in theOR setting, Outpatient, Inpatient, and Urgent care. In this role youwill be responsible for the following: Collaborates withinterdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosis and treatment ofconditions requiring Orthopaedic intervention in blended environment asa member of the Orthopaedic Surgery department. Writes accurate andtimely progress notes, procedure notes, and/or admission and transferorders. Order, perform, and interpret screening and diagnosticprocedures and tests, and appropriately communicates and documentsinformation. Privileged to perform procedures beyond core as identifiedby the Orthopaedic division services. Facilitates and communicates withpatient, family and staff to promote continuity of care across thecontinuum of care. Attend required training and meets key regulatoryrequirements, including those of the privileging institution, CMS, andthe Join Commission. Evaluates quality outcomes for the patientsreceiving care of this team through participation in the development ofquality indicators and outcomes dashboard. Acquires information on themost current development and trends in the Physician Assistant fieldand/or Nurse Practitioner field, through educational programs,in-services, professional associates, and current literature. CoreAdvanced Practice Responsibilities: Performs comprehensive histories andphysical exams, identifies normal and abnormal findings, includingphysical, cognitive and psychosocial status. Orders and interpretslaboratory and diagnostic tests. Develops pharmaceutical andnon-pharmaceutical treatment plans. Monitors effectiveness of plan ofcare. Educates patients on disease and treatment plans. Performsprocedures as trained and appropriately credentialed.
