JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: The Medical College of Wisconsin(MCW) brings a synergy between the best medical education, research andpatient care. In the role of an InternationalScholars Immigration Specialist you will beworking in our HumanRecources Department. Summary With limited direct supervision,independently perform SEVIS operations and provide direct support,onboarding, training and lead engagement with international learners forthe Medical College of Wisconsin. Ensure all international scholarsscholars possess proper and valid visa documentation and knowledge oflegal requirements associated with their status. Independently maintaincomprehensive immigration student records, including CPT/OPT. Maintainthe integrity of the organization by making independent decisionsinvolving immigration laws affecting foreign national learners of MCW.Support MCW's employer sponsored visa programs, as needed. PrimaryResponsibilities Serve as MCW's sole staff member dedicated to theprocessing of international scholars attending MCW. Manage all aspectsof SEVIS operations for international students sponsored by MCW,including graduates engaged in CPT/OPT under authorization from MCW.Ensure compliance of all student immigration procedures anddocumentation. Provide direction, advice and guidance to internationalscholars, including conducting onboarding/training of internationalscholars and periodic training/education on relevant topics. Provideconsistent communication on matters related to immigration to Deans andother academic leadership, Registrar and other constituencies within theinstitution. Process OPT and CPT requests and extensions, includingverification of suitable employment in compliance with regulations. Actas a Notary Public for the HR office, verifying documents for foreignnationals throughout the organization. Represent MCW at local andregional/national NAFSA (International Association of InternationalEducators) meetings; network with international advisors from otherinstitutions on immigration policy issues. Conduct training sessions forMCW staff members interested in learning more about internationalscholar programs, immigration laws and regulations.
