FTE: 0.001000 / OPT/ Per Diem Shift: Shift 4 Job Summary: As a Level 1 Trauma Center, ourTrauma patient population is very dynamic and diverse. From the ED, theOR the ICU, the trauma patient eventually arrives on 2NT. Our 32 bedunit requires both teamwork and hard work to manage pain, woundcare/dressing changes, family dynamics that are associated with traumaand the overall healing process until that patient can go safely on to arehab facility or home. Our nursing staff, both RN's and CNAs do agreat job working together to provide excellent patient care to all ourpatients every day The Registered Nurse is a practitioner who isresponsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluatingnursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatientenvironment. This individual demonstrates competency in delivery of careto a primarily adult population. The Staff RN-Inpatient job descriptionhas incorporated essential functions which are adapted from the ANANursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010). EXPERIENCEDESCRIPTION: Clinical competence and experience in the care andmanagement of target patient populations specific to area of employment.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Professional knowledge of nursing theory andpractice at a level normally acquired through completion of education atan accredited School of Nursing in order to be eligible for licensure asa Registered Nurse is required. Upon hire any non-BSN nurse with lessthan one year of licensed registered nurse experience will be requiredto enroll in a BSN (or higher nursing degree) program. Acceptance into aprogram is expected within 15 months of hire and the degree program mustbe completed within 5 years of enrollment, or 6 years if program is MSN,DNP or PhD in Nursing. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: Requires current state of Wisconsin RegisteredNurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participatingstate in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association(AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHAapproved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
