JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Description: Title Certified Nurse MidwifePosition Description: The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department ofOBGYN is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (APRN) to provide primary orspecialty medical care within defined scope of practice under thesupervision of a licensed physician and in accordance with MCW/FMLH/CHWpolicies and procedures. The APRN will be responsible for the physical,mental, and emotional care of their patients during delivery. The CNMwill provide prenatal and postnatal education, examine the patientduring the course of the pregnancy, and assist patients in creatingbirth plans. The APRN will also ensure the health and well-being of thenewborn and mother during delivery. The Ideal Candidate will be aWomen's Health experienced RN with Professionalism, strongcommunication skills, and collegiality, wanting to be part of a thrivingand very collaborative academic practice at the Medical College ofWisconsin (MCW). Areas of responsibility will include, but not belimited to providing direct patient care to in a blended setting. Inthis role you will, Perform gynecological exams Educate patients onhealth, nutrition, and family planning Perform tests to obtaininformation about patients' medical conditions Provide full scopeprenatal and postpartum care in accordance with ACOG standards. Counselexpectant mothers on birthing plans, including hospital care, and othersplans of care Provide emotional care for mothers during birth Arrangeprenatal planning and care for mothers Prepare for birthing by followingall health and safety standards Coach mother through the birthingprocess Perform deliveries and assist caesareans Tend to the health andwell-being of both the fetus and mother during the process Assistphysicians in caring for the mother during complicated births Studypatient history and health assessments Monitor patient postpartum and beavailable for questions or concerns Participate in research and furthereducational opportunities Perform CPR or other emergency measures ifneeded Perform newborn circumcision as needed Perform other duties asneeded as part of the team in the Birth Center Attend required trainingand meets key regulatory requirements, including CMS, and The JointCommission. Evaluates quality outcomes for the patients under the careof OB/GYN programs through participation in the development of qualityindicators and outcomes dashboard.
