Job Title: Machine Shop Foreman Job Description As a Machine Shop Foreman, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the operations of a small machine shop specializing in the production of aerospace parts. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining quality standards, and supervising a team of machinists. Your expertise in CNC machining and leadership abilities will be essential in driving the team's success. Responsibilities + Understand and operate various machines and operating systems with minimal training, including Johnford, Fadal, Okuma 50 taper, Haas Pallet Pool, Haas VF2, and VF0. + Identify and improve process and workflow to meet on-time customer delivery. + Ensure proper completion of paperwork for each job run. + Address problems reported on the shop floor by coordinating with the appropriate department. + Setup and operate vertical and horizontal CNC machines. + Monitor in-process parts to ensure quality standards are met. + Read and interpret dimensions and tolerances from blueprints. + Deburr and blend machined parts to meet quality specifications. + Perform daily maintenance on machines, such as checking fluid levels, emptying chips, and cleaning machines. + Maintain a clean and organized work area. + Lead and supervise a team of 10 employees. Essential Skills + Minimum of 10 years of experience in CNC machine shops, specifically with vertical and horizontal mills. + Proficient in aerospace CNC milling cell and pallet pool systems. + Strong leadership qualities and excellent communication skills. + Ability to read programs and blueprints/drawings. + Experience in production, manufacturing, or related fields. + Knowledge of production tools and equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality components. + Strong organizational skills to manage workflow efficiently. + Adaptability to learn and incorporate new technologies. + Familiarity with setup and operation of vertical and horizontal CNC mills. Work Environment Located in Auburn, WA, our facility is equipped with advanced vertical and horizontal mills, as well as a Mazak lathe, ensuring high-quality production. You will train on the day shift from 5:00am to 2:00pm, Monday through Friday, and may lead both day and swing shifts, with swing shift hours from 3:00pm to 1:30am, Monday through Thursday. Overtime may be required as needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
