Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Accountant to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This Contract-to-Permanent role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, including the CFO and Controller, and contribute to high-level financial operations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in payroll accounting, auditing, and construction-related finance while showcasing strong communication skills and an efficient approach. Responsibilities: u2022 Collaborate directly with the CFO and Controller to support high-level financial decision-making. u2022 Oversee payroll accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations. u2022 Perform month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts. u2022 Handle account and bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records. u2022 Conduct audits and provide insights based on findings to improve financial practices. u2022 Utilize construction industry knowledge to manage specialized accounting tasks effectively. u2022 Foster positive client relationships through proactive communication and efficient engagement. u2022 Assist with financial reporting and analysis to support organizational goals. u2022 Leverage experience in public accounting to enhance operational processes and compliance. u2022 Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 5-8 years of accounting experience, including 2-5 years in auditing. u2022 Strong understanding of payroll accounting and its complexities. u2022 Familiarity with construction finance and related accounting practices is preferred. u2022 Bachelor's degree from a reputable university, with evidence of balancing work and studies. u2022 Proficiency in month-end close, general ledger management, and journal entries. u2022 Experience with account and bank reconciliations. u2022 CPA certification or progress toward certification is highly desirable. u2022 Excellent communication skills and an outgoing personality to engage effectively with clients and team members.
