Description Utility Lines Construction Services Job Title: Overhead Distribution A Lineperson Job description summary: A line worker installs and fixes overhead distribution and transmis-sion systems, which includes poles, cables, and electrical systems. Line Workers also fit, repair, and maintain underground cables and electrical equipment. Stringing overhead wire. u2022 Installing transformers, lightening arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear. u2022 Performing new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead line work while complying with all Safety and Health rules u2022 Troubleshooting issues with primary and secondary systems. u2022 Replacing cutout fuses and clearing faulted circuits and systems u2022 Ensure daily testing and inspection of assigned tools and equipment to maintain equip-ment in a safe and efficient manner. u2022 Reports all injuries, near misses and other safety and health concerns to Foreperson u2022 Any other duties related to the installation of overhead power supply. u2022 All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors. Minimum Requirements: u2022 Must have knowledge of heavy equipment. u2022 Ability to problem solve with unidentified circumstances on any job. u2022 Must have knowledge of working with energized high voltage systems requiring specific skill set. u2022 Must be able to climb different structures and possess the tools to do the climb. u2022 Must be able to identify, operate and service all required tools and equipment. (i.e., bucket truck, digger derrick truck, tensioners, puller, rollers, hand tamp, chain saw, concrete saw, shovel) Education and experience: u2022 At least 4 years of electrical linework experience. u2022 Be able to provide proof of work experience, schooling, and any certifications that you have obtained during your career. Traveling Requirements: u2022 Must be willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work. Driver License: u2022 Valid Driveru2019s License is preferred, but can be discussed during interview process. u2022 Valid CDL is preferred or willingness to obtain valid CDL within 90 days of employment. If unable to obtain, please discuss this during the interview process. Safety: u2022 Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge dis-tance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as neces-sary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance nec-essary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a stand-ard 8 or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict pro-fessionally.
