The UNC Department of Neurology is looking for a Pediatric Surgical Epileptologist to join their team. Clinical Responsibilities: u2022 Providing medical services u2022 Training residents and fellows during rotations on: o Inpatient general child neurology o Inpatient epilepsy monitoring unit o Reading routine and stereo-electroencephalograms o Evoked potentials o Long-term video electroencephalograms u2022 Participation in pre-surgical pediatric epilepsy diagnostic evaluations u2022 Conducting both pediatric neurology and epilepsy specialty outpatient clinics Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience u2022 Established Skills: o Epilepsy surgery multi-modal diagnostic evaluations o Planning for localization of stereo EEG o Interpretation of stereo EEG o Multidisciplinary surgical approach planning with neurosurgery o Includes laser interstitial thermal ablation o Deep brain stimulation options for pediatric patients u2022 Educational and Professional Requirements: o MD/DO or equivalent degree o Completed both a child neurology residency and an epilepsy sub-specialty fellowship in accredited programs u2022 Licensure: o Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina u2022 Technical Knowledge: o Working knowledge of scalp high-density electroencephalographic recordings o Subdural grid and depth stereology for pre-surgical epilepsy evaluations u2022 Certification: o ABPN Board Certified in Child Neurology o Board Certified/Eligible in Epilepsy Please send CVs to Laura Oakes at Job Details Legal Employer: STATE Entity: UNC Faculty Physicians Work Type: Full Time Standard Hours Per Week: 40.00 Work Assignment Type: Onsite Work Schedule: Day Job Exempt From Overtime: Exempt: No This is a State position employed by UNC Health Care System with UNC Health benefits.
