Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer 3Job Description As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing powertrain controls requirements based on machine level performance and functional requirements. You will create leverageable control features for various electromechanical system architectures through model-based controls development and utilize virtual product development for control system functional testing, powertrain optimization, and performance verification. Additionally, you will develop and validate powertrain control features through simulation, lab, and machine development using CAN and Ethernet-based tools. You will analyze data, investigate issues for root causes, document powertrain control feature functionality, and collaborate with process partners to deliver high-quality products. Responsibilities + Develop powertrain controls requirements based on machine level performance and functional requirements. + Create leverageable control features for electromechanical system architectures through model-based controls development. + Utilize virtual product development for control system functional testing, powertrain optimization, and performance verification. + Develop and validate powertrain control features through simulation, lab, and machine development using CAN and Ethernet-based tools. + Analyze data and investigate issues for root causes. + Document powertrain control feature functionality and performance. + Collaborate with process partners to deliver high-quality products. Essential Skills + Experience in model-based controls development using Matlab Simulink and Stateflow. + Experience with virtual product development. + Experience with lab, machine, or vehicle development. + Experience developing electromechanical, transmission, hybrid, or powertrain controls. + Experience with control software development tools and processes. + Experience with CAN development tools such as Vector CANape, CANalyzer, or ATI Vision. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Strong technical leadership skills and communication. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bacheloru2019s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Equivalent Engineering. + Five or more years of related experience required. + With an advanced degree, willing to consider candidates with two or more years of related experience. + Candidates from the automotive industry with software and hands-on experience are preferred. Work Environment The work environment is agile and involves frequent collaboration within a team of about 20 people. The team structure includes four team leads, and there is a strong focus on validation, powertrain, electric drive, and controls embedded software. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Chillicothe, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
