Overview General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP)Locations: Mercy Medical Center u2013 Aurora, IL & Holy Family u2013 Des Plaines, ILPosition Type: Full-Time / DaysSpecialty Focus: Wound Care & Surgical Services Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with strong wound care experience to join our surgical team. This role supports providers across Mercy Medical Center in Aurora and Holy Family in Des Plaines, requiring flexibility to travel between both sites. The APP will provide high-quality, patient-centered care, focusing on wound management, wound debridement, and support of general surgery workflows. Responsibilities u2022 Perform wound assessments, ongoing wound care, and wound debridement (sharp debridement required).u2022 Manage acute and chronic wounds in collaboration with the General Surgery team.u2022 Conduct patient evaluations, develop treatment plans, and participate in interdisciplinary care planning.u2022 Provide pre- and post-operative surgical care, including follow-up visits and patient education.u2022 Document all care in the EMR in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.u2022 Coordinate care across both clinical sites, ensuring consistent communication with the surgical team.u2022 Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, case management, and ancillary services to optimize patient outcomes. Qualifications u2022 Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the State of Illinois.u2022 National board certification required.u2022 Minimum 1u20132 years of wound care experience, preferably in surgical or hospital-based settings.u2022 Competency and experience in wound debridement.u2022 Current BLS/ACLS (or ability to obtain before start date).u2022 Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work independently.u2022 Ability to travel between Aurora and Des Plaines regularly. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
