Description We are looking for an Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in St. Cloud, Minnesota. This contract-to-permanent position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working directly with patients. The role involves assisting in eye care procedures, maintaining efficient patient flow, and supporting the team in delivering exceptional care. Responsibilities: u2022 Guide patients from the reception area to the examination room and conduct initial pre-testing, including measuring eye pressure and assessing visual acuity. u2022 Collect accurate medical and ocular histories to ensure thorough documentation. u2022 Perform refraction tests to determine eyeglass prescriptions, with training available if needed. u2022 Conduct preliminary eye examinations before the doctor sees the patient. u2022 Administer eye drops and explain procedures to patients as required. u2022 Assist the physician during minor office procedures and treatments. u2022 Perform specialized ophthalmic testing as prescribed by the doctor. u2022 Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment to ensure optimal functionality. u2022 Manage inventory by ordering supplies and tracking usage. u2022 Promote a smooth workflow by ensuring efficient patient transitions and supporting team collaboration. Requirements u2022 Previous experience in ophthalmic care is preferred, but willingness to learn is essential. u2022 Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues in a detail-oriented and friendly manner. u2022 Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and patient management systems. u2022 Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and dedication to maintaining patient confidentiality. u2022 Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment. u2022 Familiarity with eye anatomy, refractive errors, and common ocular conditions is an advantage. u2022 Capacity to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced clinical setting. u2022 Commitment to providing excellent customer service and ensuring patient satisfaction.
