Summary The Albert Lea Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) has an opening for a Full-Time Staff Physician. CBOCs within the Minneapolis VA Health Care System provide care to Veterans near their home town and serve over 18,000 Veterans throughout Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Authorized, amount to be determined Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting Seeking a Family Practice or Internal Medicine trained primary care provider with administrative and supervisory experience for a position as Medical Supervisor is sought for a VA clinic in Albert Lea, Minnesota part of the Minneapolis, MN VA health care system. Our facilities include an updated fully-equipped medical clinic with a lab, x- ray and telemedicine capabilities. Our physicians serve the primary care health needs of Albert Lea and rural areas using a team approach with nursing and onsite clinical pharmacist. Mental Health services within the clinic help to provide comprehensive care to the Veterans served in this VA Community Clinic. Take time with your patients. Visits for established patients are 30 minutes and for new patients 60 minutes Providers will perform outpatient duties and management of scheduled and unscheduled patients. An assigned panel of patients is determined by the VHA PCMM software package which is specific to their practice and setting. Focus on care include the chronic disease initiative areas of CHF, COPD and DM, mental health collaboration in the PC setting, MOVE program focusing on weight loss, diet and activity as well as health promotion/disease management. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 0800-1630 Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
