The position will be located in DECu2019s Executive Offices in Albany; however, based on the responsibilities may require significant travel.Perform duties as a Project Director for the Bay Park Conveyance Project:1. Manage the Professional Services contract with AECOM including, but not limited to-Review and oversite of the development of:u2022 Project Implementation Planu2022 Needs Assessmentu2022 Risk Mitigation Planu2022 Change Management Planu2022 Project Records Systemu2022 Overall Project Schedulingu2022 Partnering Program- Review of:u2022 Invoicesu2022 Cost Control Reportsu2022 Labor and Wage Rate Complianceu2022 Contract Closeout Documentation- Oversite of AECOM work related to:u2022 Management of the Design-Build contractu2022 Design Quality Assuranceu2022 Construction Quality Assuranceu2022 Utility Relocationsu2022 Project Commissioning2. Assist AECOM with the oversite of the Design-Build contract, including, but not limited to:- Review of:u2022 Design Documentsu2022 Plans and Specificationsu2022 Construction Submittalsu2022 Invoicesu2022 Labor and Wage Rate Complianceu2022 Change Ordersu2022 Contract Closeout Documentation- Oversight and Tracking of:u2022 Real Estate Acquisition Processu2022 E4 Utility Installation u2022 Obtaining Necessary Permitsu2022 Overall Project Scheduling- Attendance at:u2022 Project related meetings both in Albany and Nassau Countyu2022 Project site inspectionsu2022 Weekly construction meetingsu2022 Technical meetingsu2022 Negotiation meetingsMount Vernonu2022Maintain state lead role in advancing the overall water/wastewater investment in Mount Vernon.u2022Ensure the capacity consultant is responsibly advancing the Cityu2019s obligations under the Consent Decree.u2022Consult and advise the City and County in best practices for advancing the Mount Vernon initiative.u2022Review all technical plans as part of the Mount Vernon Initiative.Oleanu2022Act as agency lead in procurement and delivery of projects to reduce SSOu2019s in the City of Olean.u2022Partner with the City and professional services to identify causes and necessary solutions to improve the Cityu2019s wastewater collection system and conveyance systems.Manage Other Projects Important to the Departments Mission. In collaboration with the DOW, Resiliency Office, or as directed by the Commissioneru2022Scope or implement any projects important to the Departments objectives.u2022Oversee any necessary professional service or construction contracts.u2022Meet with stakeholders including other agencies, levels of government, or private entities to scope, procure or deliver projects.u2022Advise municipalities as needed to advance critical projects.u2022Manage corresponding funding programs which are required to either in part or fully deliver project/programs.u2022Supervise any staff either directly hired or contract employees retained to advance projects within the scope of this title.Additional responsibilities will include oversight of other unique and large special projects as identified by the DEC Commissioner as needing project management. Indirect supervision will be required dependent on the type of project assignment. Ideal candidates are creative, solution-oriented professionals with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills who are driven to improve processes and advance efficiencies.
