Job Description

General Purpose:Performs a variety of food service-related tasks including general sanitation, proper food serving and storage, operation of kitchen equipment and dish machines, handling cleaning chemicals and tools, and assembling and delivering meal orders. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills and adheres to all HACCP procedures to maintain strict sanitation standards.------------------------------------------------------------------------Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Practice proper handwashing, glove use, and sanitation guidelines- Review daily menus, specials, and spreadsheets- Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens- Communicate with the production team to ensure accurate and timely order delivery and accommodation of special requests- Remain patient and flexible in interactions with residents, guests, and team members- Identify and gather food items needed for meal service- Prepare, portion, and serve food according to menus and spreadsheets, including therapeutic and consistency-modified diets- Perform a variety of tasks including general sanitation, proper food storage (labeling and dating), operating kitchen equipment, handling chemicals, and cleaning equipment- Prepare and serve hot and cold foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as assigned- Operate and clean various kitchen tools and equipment such as toasters, steam tables, microwaves, refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, dishwashers, and food warmers- Report equipment issues promptly to a supervisor- Monitor and maintain proper food temperatures during service and holding- Accurately record food, beverage, and equipment temperatures as required- Assemble, deliver, and/or retrieve room service trays- Deliver food and supplies to designated dining locations- Serve meals attractively using appropriate utensils, sauces, condiments, and garnishes- Use nutritionally equivalent substitutes when needed; consult with a supervisor or dietitian as appropriate and log substitutions- Reset tables and replenish table supplies in dining areas- Follow HACCP food handling procedures throughout food preparation, service, and storage- Assist in cleaning and organizing coolers, freezers, and storage areas; properly cover, store, label, date, and rotate food using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method- Clean, sanitize, and store all kitchen tools and equipment at the end of shift- Operate and monitor dish machines to ensure proper sanitation of all wares- Routinely empty trash receptacles- Sweep and mop floors as assigned- Clean and sanitize hand sinks; restock soap and paper towels as needed- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks as assigned and document completion on cleaning logs- Set up, break down, and assist with food service during special events or functions- Collaborate with staff from other departments to support special events or functions- Attend daily pre-service or production meetings, staff meetings, safety trainings, and other required training sessions- Maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality- Comply with all company and departmental rules, procedures, and safety regulations- Perform other duties as assigned------------------------------------------------------------------------Behavioral Skills (Core Values):This position requires individuals to provide personalized service through the demonstration of the following behavioral values:Respectfulness: Treat everyone with dignity, courtesy, and respectEmpowerment: Take ownership of tasks and actively s
