The University of Miami Department of Medicine Division of Hospital Medicine is seeking a dedicated Hospitalist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is responsible for providing direct in-patient medical care to adult patients on medical and surgical services. They will be involved with medical student, resident and fellow education. OUTLINE OF ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS TO INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: u00b7 Direct care to adult non-surgical hospitalized patients u00b7 Consultation for hospitalized patients on any service u00b7 Coordinate internal medicine subspecialty care u00b7 Consultation for non-service unit patients by telephone u00b7 Participate in quality improvement activities u00b7 Participate in committee work u00b7 Participate in medical student, resident and fellow education u00b7 Provide leadership for academic projects in education, quality and safety or division/departmental administration QUALIFICATIONS: u00b7 Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine u00b7 Awarded degree of M.D. or D.O. from an ABIM recognized internal medicine residency u00b7 Valid and unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: u00b7 Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements. u00b7 Must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care. u00b7 Must have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with staff, patients, and family members. u00b7 Must demonstrate the ability to meet responsibilities of the position WORKING CONDITIONS: u00b7 There will be work on weekends, nights and holidays based on the needs of the Division WORKING ENVIRONMENT: u00b7 Must be able to physically respond when on-call u00b7 Hospital maintains safety and infection control programs in place to reduce risk to employee For further details, please contact: Nicola Cobb Physician Recruiter #LI-NC1 #DOX-4 Current Employees: If you are a current Staff, Faculty or Temporary employee at the University of Miami, please click here ( to log in to Workday to use the internal application process.
