Full Time Bascom Palmer Eye Institute-Miami Up to $50,000 Sign On Bonus The University of Miami/UHealth - Bascom Palmer Eye Insitute Department of Anesthesiology has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) . The CRNA: u00b7 Works in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other physicians and medical professionals to deliver anesthesia for medical and surgical procedures. u00b7 Provides care for a patient before, during, and after a medical procedure or surgery by performing a patient assessment, preparing the patient for anesthesia, and administering and maintaining the anesthesia to ensure proper sedation and pain management. u00b7 Oversees the patient's recovery from anesthesia and cares for the patient's immediate post-operative needs. u00b7 Responsible for pre-operative assessment of the surgical patients and administering anesthesia under the Direction of an Anesthesiologist u00b7 Performs pre- and post-anesthesia patient visits and documents anesthesia notes on patient records. u00b7 Reviews medical history, evaluates patients, and determines proper methods of anesthesia. u00b7 Performs or evaluates diagnostic tests, such as radiographs (x-rays) and electrocardiograms (EKGs). u00b7 Measures and monitors the level and speed at which anesthesia is administered. u00b7 Monitors patient vital signs to ensure safety, including skin color, pupil dilation, pulse, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, ventilation, or urine output. Informs physician of patientu2019s condition during anesthesia. u00b7 Manages patientsu2019 airway or pulmonary status using techniques, such as endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, respiratory therapy, and extubation. u00b7 Oversees patient recovery from anesthesia and cares for patientu2019s immediate post-operative needs. u00b7 Prepares prescribed solutions and administers local, intravenous, spinal, or other anesthetics following specified methods and procedures. u00b7 Responds to emergency situations by providing airway management, administering fluids or drugs, and using basic or advanced life support techniques. u00b7 Develops anesthesia care plans. u00b7 Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
