Horse Groom

Bella Inizio Farm, LLC (Louisville, KY) has 14 F/T Temp Horse Grooms (04/01/2026-11/25/2026) 40 hours/week. Split Shift, 5:00am-10:00am; 2:30pm-4:30pm (Tuesday-Sunday), optional hours available on Monday, but not required. Hours may vary based on weather and racing schedule. $15.28/hour (OT $22.92), paid weekly on Friday. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any worker in the specified occupation at the companyu2019s sole discretion based on individual factors, including work performance, skill or tenure. All deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law will be made. H-2B application to be concurrently filed with USDOL. As a Horse Groom, the worker will be responsible and assist with the daily care of horses and preparation of horses for training as well as participation in horse races. They have the responsibility to feed and water horses, clean, tack, bathe, brush, and clip horses, apply horse boots and prepare horses to be saddled for races. They will clean horse's feet, apply/remove leg wraps/boots and saddle for training/races. Bathe/cool down horse after training/races. Assist veterinarian while performing physical examinations, by keeping the horse calm and under control. They will also assist the farriers as they inspect, remove, apply, adjust, and work with horse's hooves and shoes by keeping the horse calm and under control. Clean/re-bed stalls. Hose down horse with cold/warm water. Wrap horses in brace or poultice bandages as necessary. Exercise/ride horses and assist trainers in preparing horses for daily training. Workers must be able to lift and carry weights of 150 lbs. with assistance. Workers should have the capability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials needed to complete their assigned tasks. The employer will rely on workers' self-representations and observations to assess whether they meet this requirement. The employer will provide to the worker, without charge or deposit charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned, in accordance with 20 CFR 655.20(k). On-the-job training will not be provided. Education required. 3 months of Experience required as Horse Groom. Drug testing may be required post-hire and post-accident at employer's expense for both U.S./domestic and H-2B workers. Daily transportation to/from the worksite will be provided to the workers at no charge (e.g. designated daily pick-up place). Worksite at: 700 Central Avenue, Louisville, KY, 40208, Jefferson County. Optional dormitory-style housing is available at racetrack, but employer does not provide housing. Utilities may be provided free of charge in the backstretch. If the worker completes 50% of the employment contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place where the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).
