Pipe Crew Operator

A Southland Holdings company is currently accepting resumes for an experiencedu00a0Pipe Crew Operatoru00a0for our large heavy civil project located inu00a0Tampa, FL. General responsibilities include but are not limited to: + Assist in instillation of pipe for sewer and water lines. + Operate an excavator (350-470 size) and other heavy equipment as necessary safely and efficiently. + Must have experience digging for a pipe crew at times 20+ feet deep on line and grade. + u00a0Perform daily checks on equipment. + Communicate with Foreman/Superintendent, and crewmen to safely accomplish tasks. + Safely dig and backfill as directed by management. + Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications + Understand basic principles of laying water main and gravity storm drain ranging in diameter from 8u201d-66u201d. + Ability to operate a rubber tire loader when needed. + Must be willing to help crew with other activities when an operator is not needed. + Proficient at layout reading survey points and measuring elevations. + Good communication skills to work effectively and safely. + Ability to work overtime as required. u00a0 Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
