The Division of Cardiology at Brown University's Warren Alpert Medical School is seeking an academic cardiologist specializing in cardiovascular imaging. The ideal candidate will have expertise in advanced cardiovascular imaging modalities such as echocardiography and cardiac MRI. This position provides an opportunity to excel in patient care, education, and research while contributing to a vibrant academic environment at VA Providence Healthcare System and Brown University Health. Applicants will be considered for an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at Brown University, based on experience. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert care in cardiovascular imaging (e.g., echocardiography, cardiac MRI). Engage in both inpatient and outpatient clinical duties. Teach and mentor medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees. Develop and deliver educational programs, including lectures and workshops. Participate in curriculum development and other educational initiatives. Contribute to section goals, strategic planning, and interdisciplinary committees to enhance clinical and research operations. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. (NOTE: VA physicians involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty status.) Approved residencies are: (1) Those approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), b) OR [(2) Those approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA),OR (3) Other residencies (non-US residency training programs followed by a minimum of five years of verified practice in the United States), which the local Medical Staff Executive Committee deems to have provided the applicant with appropriate professional training and believes has exposed the physician to an appropriate range of patient care experiences.
