Auria is looking to hire a Software Engineer to support the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program. This role is ONSITE in either Colorado Springs, CO.The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. This program is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.This position is for a Sr. Principal Software Engineer on the C2BMC Global GBM team. The candidate will primarily be responsible for software development using Java. The ideal candidate should be able to: work with support teams to resolve issues, establish standards, and improve overall system efficiency. Design, code, test, and deploy automation tools.WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:Will assist with design, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentationWill work independently or as part of a small teamProvide detailed analysis and technical support for an extensive, distributed system written in JavaHandle complex problem solving, design, development, testing, integration, and user support for a large codebaseFollow specifications to develop or modify functionality within the codeWHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:Mission-Driven Professional: Collaborative contributor motivated by the opportunity to develop cutting-edge solutions that protect and serve both the nation and the world.Current/active in-scope DoD issued TOP SECRET security clearance.8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) disciplineor a Master's degree and 6 years of experience,or a PhD and 4 years of experience,or 12 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.Proficiency in Java with the ability to design, develop, and test Java applicationsExperience with Java SpringExperience developing in a Unix/Linux environmentExperience with common software development and management tools such as:GitNexusJIRAConfluenceMavenEclipseStrong understanding of software development principles, including:OOPDesign patternsTesting/Debugging techniquesKnowledge of software practices and coding standardsWHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:A current and active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.) is highly desiredExperience working as part of an Agile teamKnowledge of server-side development and message passingExperience in developing enterprise applicationsGood working knowledge of MS Office productsFlexible and willing to take on unexpected tasksUnderstanding of standard system engineering design artifacts like Use Cases and UML diagramsCommand and control system application developmentPrevious experience with message translation softwarePrior experience designing, developing microservices, and deploying containersPAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $120,000 - $130,000APPLICATION DEADLINE: The deadline to apply to this role is November 27, 2025.THE AURIA TEAM:Auria is a provider of solutions and software in support of complex Space, National Security, and Cyber miss ons of federal, international, and commercial customers.
