M.C. Dean's estimation department is seeking a Lead Cost Engineer/ Electrical Estimator to join our team in Baltimore, MD. The Electrical Estimator will work on electrical construction projects bid and proposals through construction phase to completion, ensuring the work complies with all standards, specifications and budgets. Responsibilities Responsibilities: u00b7 Develop budgets and cost codes for projects; assist in the preparation of technical proposals, to include assisting in the design and writing the scope of work, management plans, work sequence, safety, quality control and commissioning. u00b7 Gather data and assist in preparing bid proposal estimates and design/build proposals. u00b7 Develop and present clear and detailed project scopes to the customer and meeting with potential customers to present proposals. u00b7 Understand plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and equipment needed and to ensure compliance with project requirements. u00b7 Gather data and assist in preparing bid proposal estimates and design/build proposals. u00b7 Perform take-offs from drawings; price change orders. u00b7 Understand and apply cost fundamentals; maintaining current, accurate information on prices from suppliers and contractors. u00b7 Identify value added solutions and cost saving methods. u00b7 Identify change orders and ensuring effective resolution. u00b7 Price, change orders. Qualifications Education u00b7 10+ years of experience with a related associates degree. u00b7 12+ years of experience with a High School diploma or GED. Requirements: u00b7 Proficient with Accubid; experience using sophisticated Estimating u00b7 Experience reading and interpreting blueprints. u00b7 Knowledge of design principles, relevant codes, and safety standards. u00b7 Familiarity with electrical equipment, materials and specifications. u00b7 Experience with contract documents such as contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendum, specifications, and change orders. u00b7 Experience or exposure to Technical writing. u00b7 Proven ability to effectively plan and organize one's own activities or the activities of others. u00b7 Familiarity with electrical equipment, materials and specifications. Experience reading and interpreting blueprints. u00b7 Experience with contract documents such as contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendum. u00b7 Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of electrical plans, blueprints and drawings. u00b7 Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish work. u00b7 Generating high quality work. u00b7 Working well with others in order to reach a common goal. u00b7 Must successfully pass a background check. u00b7 Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is required.
