Job Title: General Accountant / Financial Analyst Experience Level: 2u20135 Years Location: OnSite in Detroit, MI Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract to Hire Salary Range: $50-$65K (for perm) Description: Our client is a mission-driven organization located in downtown Detroit. They are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented General Accountant / Financial Analyst to join their finance team and help drive financial clarity and operational efficiency. This position will start as a Contract-to-Hire role, on-site in downtown Detroit 5-days-a-week. Position Summary: The General Accountant / Financial Analyst will play a key role in supporting the organizationu2019s financial operations, reporting, and analysis. This individual will be responsible for special projects for the CFO including maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and documenting policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is energetic, resourceful, and thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: u2022 Update policies and procedures for CFO department. u2022 As directed by the CFO analyze financial data and trends to support budgeting and forecasting activities and other special projects. u2022 Support compliance and external audits by providing documentation and analysis. u2022 Utilize ERP systems for financial and compliance reporting, including data management. u2022 Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation. u2022 Prepare ad hoc reports and financial models as needed. Qualifications: u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. u2022 Must have a CPA (or have plans to get one.) u2022 2u20135 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial analysis. u2022 Experience with at least one ERP system (Yardi preferred.) u2022 Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, etc.) u2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. u2022 Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn new systems and tools. u2022 Excellent communication and organizational skills. u2022 Positive, can-do attitude with a collaborative mindset. u2022 Commitment to the mission and values of the organization. Preferred Qualifications u2022 Experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization. u2022 Knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance standards. u2022 Local Detroit-area candidates only will be considered.
