Job Description - Instrumentation Technician I Vacancies exist for the position of Instrumentation Technician I in the Maintenance section of Tucson Power Production. All job offers are contingent on successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Starting pay for this position is $51.06 per hour. Position Description The Instrumentation Technician I is responsible for the efficient and safe maintenance and repair of all power plant and related equipment. Successful individuals placed into this classification will be responsible for the below position-related responsibilities. In addition, they are required to complete qualification signoffs as an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician within two years of placement into this role. Position-Related Responsibilities u2022 Troubleshoot, repair and maintain continuous emissions monitoring equipment u2022 Install, calibrate, tune, and troubleshoot electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic instrument loops u2022 Install program, configure and tune digital process controllers u2022 Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair hydraulic systems. u2022 Troubleshoot and repair internal combustion gas turbine control systems. u2022 Perform assigned work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Company practices and procedures. u2022 Develop and maintain data base for plant information and instrumentation u2022 Install and configure smart transmitters and recorders. u2022 Perform hazardous chemical removal and containment to include, Mercury, Radiation devices and other hazardous chemicals used in plant processes. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities u2022 Ability to read and understand prints, ladder logic and schematics. u2022 Basic skills in chemistry, Electricity, AC physics, electronics, hydraulics, and pneumatics. u2022 Basic math skills in Algebra, calculus, and geometry u2022 Must possess mechanical equipment knowledge and aptitude u2022 Must understand fluid power theories and principals u2022 Knowledge of programming languages and program structures u2022 Skilled in methods of oral and written communications. u2022 Working knowledge of PLC and DCS systems u2022 Basic Instrumentation familiarity (flow, pressure, differential pressure, precise calibrations, calibration equipment, PID control, analog references, signal interpretation) All employees are expected and required to adhere to the Company Code of Ethics and Principles of Conduct.
