LOCATION: Sportime QUOGUE, East Quogue, NY JOB SUMMARY : Provide a safe, orderly environment in which children’s needs (physical, emotional, social, etc) are met effectively. Cheerfully meet and greet parents/guardians, and children, when they come into the Nursery Room.Check to see that parents/guardians fill in the Sign-In sheet.Ensure the children have a fun experience during their stay in the Nursery.RESPONSIBILITIES Attendance is an essential job function Ensure children are safe; avoid physical contact between children.Maintain total control of the room at all times, absolutely no food is allowed in the area Keep the room clean and neat (before and after children arrive/leave) Use disinfectant wipes to clean toys.Discard broken toys; request replacements as needed Request drawing supplies as needed Assist in other areas of the club when there are no children in your care Abide by SPORTIME policies and procedures Maintain a safe, clean and secure work environment KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Minimum 2 years’ experience babysitting Current CPR/AED certification Minimum 2 years’ experience working with toddlers and young children.Be enthusiastic.Actively look for ways to improve the child’s experience Being aware of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do Ability to lift up to a 30lb child Ability to communicate well with children and adults Ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time Ability to communicate information verbally and in writing so that others will understand Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense WORK ENVIRONMENT Environment can be loud at times HOURLY RATE: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour SCHEDULE: Part-time, Monday - Saturday 8:00am-11:30am BENEFITS: Member benefits - Employees receive complimentary Sportime membership and are eligible to use club facilities, including tennis, fitness and sports, to participate in club programs on a complimentary or discounted basis, and to receive discounts on retail and other purchases. 401k Plan with employer match - Employees are eligible to enroll in Sportime’s 401k retirement plan, with matching, after they have completed one year of continuous service, worked at least 1000 hours in such calendar or anniversary year, and are over 21 years old.
