Job Class: Maintenance Mechanic 3 (Temporary) Location: Snoqualmie, WA Closes: Open until filled Salary: $5,117.00 - $5,929.00 Monthly - The salary does not include an additional 5% premium pay for employees working in King County or an on-site 24/7 facility 5% premium. The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is accepting applications for a Maintenance Mechanic 3 to perform preventative maintenance and repairs at Echo Glen Children's Center (EGCC), a Juvenile Rehabilitation medium/maximum security facility that provides treatment services for younger offenders. The Opportunity: You will perform a variety of journey-level maintenance, repair, and construction of the core facility, storage, and work buildings, grounds, machinery, and equipment. Your work utilizes a general knowledge of several related skill fields such as plumbing, electrical, welding, carpentry, HVAC, and machinist work. Some of what you will do: Maintenance, repair, remodeling, construction, and renovation work. Lead Maintenance Mechanic's and Utility Workers. Perform lead work on the maintenance and repair of key and lock systems for all doors, hardware, and access systems for all buildings on campus. Maintain, modify, alter, and repair commercial pool equipment and associated equipment including filtration and pump systems, and develop and supervise other Maintenance Mechanics and Utility Workers on basic pool maintenance. Assist with installing, maintaining, modifying, altering, and repairing plumbing systems, HVAC systems control systems commercial appliances and laundry equipment. Operate hand tools, power tools and other shop equipment in conducting the work above. Plan, schedule, and estimate time and materials needed to complete jobs. Perform building and condition assessments related to building and pool maintenance and recommend work as needed. Record and keep records of jobs completed and materials used. Lead, supervise, and ensure correct safety standards are being maintained. Required qualifications: High school diploma/GED. AND three years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic 2 or equivalent journey-level trades experience. In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following: Demonstrated experience in facility maintenance, including operating a variety of hand and power tools. Demonstrated experience providing preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment. Demonstrated experience performing maintenance, operation, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems. Demonstrated experience performing maintenance and repairs of plumbing issues. Demonstrated experience performing locksmith activities. Demonstrated experience with blueprints, plans, and sketches; estimate materials and time needed to complete jobs.
