Utility Worker

We are hiring, and all LBT job applications must be submitted online through our career's website.Under the direction of the Utility Supervisor, the Utility Worker performs a variety of duties related to the cleaning and servicing of Long Beach Transit (LBT) buses and other vehicles and equipment, facility grounds, and work areas. Fuels, checks water and oil levels of LBT vehiclesOperates buses for servicing and maintenance purposesSweeps, mops, and prepares bus interior and exterior for bus washingMakes bus changes on vehicle routesDrives buses between LBT facilitiesSweeps, mops, and cleans work areas and groundsAssists with moving furniture and equipmentRemoves fare revenue and records informationOperates a variety of equipment including forklift and ground scrubber/sweeperPlaces and replaces fliers and advertisements in busesObserves safety rules and contributes to a safe working environment for self and othersOther duties as assignedCandidates must be 21 years or older with a valid California Class C driver's license, an excellent safe driving record, and the ability to upgrade to a Class B license. Six months of full-time related work experience in a position successfully performing janitorial and/or industrial cleaning duties or a position responsible for the cleaning, maintenance and/or servicing of a variety of vehicles. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:The essential functions of the job are performed in a shop environment and outside in various weather conditions.
