Assistant Controller

Description We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Signal Hill, California. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise and leadership skills to support the financial operations of our organization. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness. u2022 Manage cost accounting, fixed asset tracking, and general ledger entries. u2022 Prepare and analyze financial statements for reporting purposes. u2022 Supervise payroll processing, including filing payroll tax, sales/use tax, and property tax reports. u2022 Utilize QuickBooks and advanced Excel features, such as pivot tables and data analysis, to create and maintain detailed financial reports. u2022 Support month-end close procedures and ensure compliance with financial audits. u2022 Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline accounting practices across multiple entities. u2022 Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency. u2022 Maintain compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards. u2022 Assist with financial reporting and budgeting in alignment with organizational goals. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred. u2022 Minimum of 7-10 years of accounting experience with attention to detail. u2022 Comprehensive knowledge of accounts payable/receivable, cost accounting, fixed assets, and general ledger management. u2022 Proficiency with QuickBooks and payroll processing systems. u2022 Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis. u2022 Experience in the manufacturing or oil/gas/energy industries is highly desirable. u2022 Strong ability to create and manage financial reports and spreadsheets. u2022 Familiarity with tax filing processes, including payroll tax, sales/use tax, and property tax reporting.
