Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Responsibilities Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties included but not limited to: Psychosocial Assessment: The social worker will complete a psychosocial assessment of the Veteran, family, economic, community, and psychosocial support systems according to program SOP. Case Management: The social worker will function as a case manager for Veterans in the MHICM program performing duties to facilitate independent community living by coordinating mental health and community care. MHICM Consults: The social worker will respond to consults as determined by the program coordinator by utilizing a screening tool and other measurement devices while assessing the Veteran s emotional, functional, and psychological condition. Treatment Planning/Goal Setting: The social worker is responsible for contributing to the treatment plan and setting achievable treatment goals with the Veteran/family in collaboration with the MHICM interdisciplinary treatment team members. Referral to service providers: Throughout the course of treatment, the social worker is the subject matter expert on VA and/or community resources. Advocacy: The social worker will act as an advocate when it serves the best interest of the Veteran/family. Crisis Intervention: The social worker is experienced in making rapid assessments and developing crisis management or suicide prevention safety plans. Education/Health promotion and prevention: The social worker will provide education related to VA and community resources, entitlements, Advance Directives/Living Will and will refer Veterans/families to the appropriate interdisciplinary team member for identified health education needs. Use of Government Vehicle to Transport Veterans: This position requires the ability to accompany and transport Veterans to appointments and other community resources as needed, whether medical, housing, or other treatment plan goal appointments through the use of a government vehicle. Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized. Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized. Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience. Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child. Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Telework: Ad-hoc only telework is authorized as determined by the needs of the agency.
