Job Description

The Psychiatric/Mental Health (PMH) Registered Nurse, requires a wide range of nursing, psychosocial, and neurobiological expertise. PMH nurses promote well-being through prevention and education, in addition to the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. The nurse demonstrates ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner and demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care. The PMH RN works in a variety of settings and provides comprehensive care to individuals, families, and communities when applicable. Minimum Requirements: + Current Registered Nurse Licensure in-state practicing + Current CPR if applicable + TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age Position Details: Length of Contract: 13 Weeks Shift: 8a-9p - Days will Vary and Change. Must Have Schedule Flexibility Hours: 36 Hours/Week (Must Work Weekends) Local Pay: $56/hr. Travel Pay: $2,614/wk. Location: Canon City, Colorado Start Date: 2 weeks from offer. Assignment Notes: + Working with children ages 10-18. + Sub-Acute and Acute units - Would prefer someone that could float between the two. + Dealing with children that have trauma including self destructive behaviors, mood disorders, dissociative disorders, PTSD, substance abuse, etc. Duties of assignment are (but not limited to): + Medication passes + Medication Administration Records + Physical restraint assessment + Medical assessments + Medication deliveries - ordering, refilling,checking in, stocking, medication counts + Injections/blood sugar checks + Contacting guardians with information + Records pulling + Medical clinic + Provider Collaboration + All acute care outsideof emergent needs, including full assessments and focal assessments + Collaborating with the Psych provider for ordersrelated to restraints and seclusion + Collaborating with the Medical providers fororders related to testing + Collect UAs for infection and drug screens + Collect swabs for infectious disease + Admissions + Discharges + Collaboration with the Medical Administrator forscheduling of needed appointments + Tracking specialty care/labs Benefits At Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits: + Competitive pay & weekly paychecks + Health, dental, vision, and life insurance + 401(k) savings plan + Awards and recognition programs Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.
