This is a PRN Ultrasound Technologist position where you will provide ultrasound care in a variety of areas, filling in as needed to cover PTO and/or sick calls. For obstetrics, Sterling utilizes a computerized intelligent OB program designed to reduce the chance of complications during labor. As a level III trauma designated hospital, Sterling has 24/7 coverage for Emergency Medicine, Anesthesia, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Imaging, Family Medicine/Peds, and Rehabilitation. This position performs procedures by following and verifying referring providersu2019 orders. Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures for one Ultrasound certification. CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Performs all exams by following and verifying referring providersu2019 orders. Adheres to established protocols and provides all pertinent patient information utilized by Radiologist for complete dictation. Uses independent judgement and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures for all ultrasound exams. Scanning competencies should include, at a minimum, all patient ages, acuity levels and classes, independently and without quality issues. Performs ultrasound guided procedures and works closely with radiologist or provider. 2. Educates patients and families about procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Demonstrates professional behavior and conduct in all interactions. Fosters teamwork, ensures efficient use of resources and advocates for quality patient outcomes. 3. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Performs troubleshooting as needed and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.
