Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in the Fox Valley. In this role, you will handle invoice processing, coding, and payment preparation to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning of our accounts payable department. Responsibilities: u2022 Process invoices accurately and promptly to ensure timely payments. u2022 Apply correct coding to invoices in accordance with company policies. u2022 Manage check runs and prepare payments for vendor accounts. u2022 Verify invoice details and resolve discrepancies with vendors or internal teams. u2022 Maintain organized records of processed invoices and payment documentation. u2022 Utilize Microsoft Great Plains Accounting software for financial tracking and reporting. u2022 Ensure compliance with company procedures and financial regulations. u2022 Collaborate with other departments to address payment-related inquiries. u2022 Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable. u2022 Identify opportunities for process improvement within the accounts payable workflow. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role. u2022 Proficiency in coding invoices and managing check runs. u2022 Familiarity with Microsoft Great Plains Accounting software. u2022 Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. u2022 Ability to analyze and resolve invoice discrepancies effectively. u2022 Excellent communication skills for vendor and team interactions. u2022 Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards. u2022 High level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
