The Software Engineering Intern is an integral part of multi-disciplined new product engineering team at Eatonu2019s Thomas A. Edison Technical Center in Franksville, WI. In this role, you will assist in the development of interface software for high performance, real-time controls and protective relays used for smart grid applications in the electrical power distribution industry. In this role you will: u2022 Implement features to configure, monitor, and update power system intelligent electronic devices, including advanced UX design, IDE development, graphical data representation and display, communication protocols, cybersecurity, and other relay, control and monitoring functions using .NET and C#. u2022 Implement designs based on product and interface requirements with guidance from lead software engineers. u2022 Work with functional managers, systems engineers, and lead software engineers to distill product/system requirements/use cases to software stories, developing module and system level code, and unit tests. u2022 Participate in tasks related to new product development including planning, task/story estimation, programming, unit testing, peer review, integration and release. u2022 Participate in the analysis and specification of software subsystems. u2022 Implement tests in support of developer testing activities and integration with Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines. u2022 Participate in design and code reviews. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: u2022 Actively enrolled in or received a bacheloru2019s or masteru2019s degree program in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science at an accredited institution with a graduation date no earlier than December 2026. u2022 Minimum GPA of 2.8 or above. u2022 Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Preferred Qualifications u2022 Prior internship or co-op experience. u2022 Junior or higher standing. u2022 Minimum GPA of 3.2 or above. u2022 Experience developing .NET, C# based applications. u2022 Familiarity with developing UX with Windows Presentation Foundation, XAML, and Workflow. u2022 Familiarity with Agile Scrum concepts (or other iterative development methodology). u2022 Familiarity with using SDLC management tools in a team environment.
