Job Description

Job Title: Press Technician Job Description As a Press Technician, you will operate automatic, coil-fed, or computer numerical control (CNC) presses along with related equipment such as feeders and conveyors. You will oversee press setups, production runs, and changeovers to ensure efficiency and meet production schedules. Your role will involve monitoring and adjusting machine settings, performing quality checks on finished products, and analyzing production data to maintain high-quality output. Routine maintenance on the machinery, troubleshooting mechanical or technical issues, and implementing solutions to minimize downtime will be crucial. Responsibilities + Perform meticulous quality checks on finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers. + Monitor press operations to detect irregularities or malfunctions, perform minor adjustments, preventative maintenance, and assist the maintenance team with complex repairs. + Adjust pressure settings according to manufacturer specifications for specific materials or jobs. + Implement regular inspection and replacement schedules for worn components and ensure proper tool material is used. + Maintain hydraulic systems by checking fluid levels and condition, repairing leaks, replacing worn seals, cleaning filters, and bleeding air from the system. Essential Skills + Troubleshooting capabilities + Machine setup experience + Mechanical troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude + Punch press operation + Use of hand tools and inspection equipment + Knowledge of press brake operations + Experience in machine operating and preventive maintenance + Blueprint reading and machine operation setup + Fabrication skills and use of calipers Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience operating heavy machinery or maintenance with press equipment such as stamping, hydraulic, or punch presses. + Consideration for candidates from technical schools with strong troubleshooting skills. + Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and diagrams. + Knowledge of machine calibration and adjustment procedures. + Ability to stand for an entire shift, perform repetitive motions, and lift and move materials up to 50 pounds or more. Work Environment The work environment includes shifts from Monday to Friday, with one position on day shift (6:30am to 3:00pm) and one on night shift (10:30pm to 7:00am). Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Stanton, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $31.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
