Requisition ID: 178488 Job Level: Mid Level Home District/Group: Kiewit Nuclear Solutions Department: Design Engineering Market: Nuclear Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview As a Structural Design Engineer, you will be a part of a growing team that supports all aspects of the construction process by performing innovative design engineering through brainstorming conceptual designs, performing and/or reviewing structural calculations, developing plans, scheduling tasks to meet client needs, as well as mitigating risk to keep our construction crews safe. Depending on the project load, you may be asked to support in multiple capacities including estimating and production environments. Location The position is located in Lenexa, KS. Other locations may be considered. Responsibilities u2022 Performs intermediate calculations under the supervision of a more senior engineer. Solves problems using well established scientific principles. u2022 Able to analyze data and understands the relationships and correlations. u2022 Ability to draw conclusions and present finding to senior leadership. u2022 Proactive about learning new information and skills. u2022 Under general supervision, analyze structures using various structural engineering software programs. Design buildings and building foundations, equipment platforms and foundations, pipe racks, and miscellaneous concrete and steel structures Prepares quantities, cost estimates, and other supporting documentation for projects u2022 Initiates development of personal objectives aligned with those of the organization. u2022 Seeks feedback and uses it effectively. u2022 Has good understanding of the complete design and has good input into ways of improving the design. u2022 Utilize codes and standards to complete assignments. u2022 Identifies the customers, both internally and externally. u2022 Handles various assignments, including rework, in timely manner to meet schedule deadlines. u2022 Performs assigned work efficiently and effectively to maximize person productivity. u2022 Performs quality checks of the design in a team environment to ensure accuracy. u2022 Carries out assignments carefully while focused on details. #LI-LH1 Qualifications + u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis) or architectural engineering minimum required.u2022 2-4 years' minimum relevant experience in Nuclear, Power Generation, or Industrial preferred, but other experience will be considered.u2022 Travel Working Conditions Other Requirements: + Regular, reliable attendance + Work productively and meet deadlines timely + Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. + Perform work safely and effectively.
