Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Truman VAMC will provide direct anesthesia care and support across multiple clinical areas within the hospital. The ideal candidate is board certified or board eligible with the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) and has experience in cardiac anesthesia (e.g., CABG, TAVR). Duties: Conduct pre-operative risk assessments and physical exams Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during procedures Perform IVs, arterial/central line placements, and monitoring device setups Provide care in the OR, PACU, GI/bronchoscopy suites, and bedside as needed Support post-op care, including ventilator and pain management Participate in the pre-op assessment program Collaborate with CRNAs, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams Complete administrative duties (e.g., CME, committee work, FPPE/OPPEs) Maintain an active medical license and perform other assigned duties Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
