Skills/Qualifications: • MIG & TIG welding, 5 years required• Able to read blueprints• Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum, minimum 5 years required• Fabrication experience, minimum 5 years required • Able to lift 75 lbs.• Strong attention to detail• Proactive critical thinking• Manufacturing quality focus• Welding certificate required Job Description/Duties:• Measure and mark work pieces using straightedges, rules, and calipers• Use measuring instruments such as tape measure and calipers to inspect angles, grooves or gap allowances• Cut and smooth metal components using plasma cutters and portable grinders• Read and interpret blueprints and production drawings in order to lay out a welding project• Operate forklifts/pallet-jacks and use them in conveying work materials to welding site• Collaborate with project managers and welding supervisors to ensure smooth work operations• Maintain welding safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a risk-free work environment• Carry out welding according to set dimensions to meet general test requirements• Organize and clean welding equipment on a regular basis• Organize and clean welding booth daily• Monitor inventory level of materials to notify supervisor of stock shortage• Weld materials in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions• Assess weld quality and conformance to specification• Maintain a safe and clean work area• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other tasks as needed
