Senior Network Engineer Job Category: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCI with Polygraph Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: None Type of Travel: None The Opportunity: - The Sr. Network Engineer will work within the Network Security Implementation and Sustainment (NSIS) Services section to provide assistance in all aspects of network management from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks Responsibilities: - Analyzes design, specifications, and related documents - Implements communication system requirements to support the distributed functionality of a software engineering environment - analyzes network characteristics (e.g. traffic connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes and throughput), troubleshoots problems and recommends procurement and/or modifications to network components Qualifications: u2022 TS SCI w/ Polygraph is required. u2022 Designs solutions, integrates, configures, deploys, tests and provides support for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologies. u2022 Optimizes end-to-end system performance and dataflow management. u2022 Configures/optimizes network to connect to various front- and back-end components. u2022 Coordinates with system engineering and dataflow efforts to ensure proper mission operations with minimum down time. u2022 Facilitates implementation of high-speed, scalable, fault-tolerant network topologies as applicable to WAN/LAN design. u2022 Implements specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, VPNs, firewall contexts, and network address translation (NAT) where appropriate. u2022 Minimizes network latency and maximizes data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools. u2022 Manages assigned tasks and provides guidance to junior Network Engineers. u2022 Validates new/existing dataflow and data formats. u2022 Coordinates with appropriate dataflow organizations and end-customer recipients, follow-on data repositories and tasking organizations and understands potential adverse impacts on system-wide dataflow. u2022 Designs, integrates, tests and deploys RF communications solutions. u2022 Leads large efforts of dynamic requirements and scale. u2022 Works with Systems Engineers and cross-organizational teams to define requirements. u2022 Resolves complex network problems, operate network analyzers, WAN test equipment and network simulators. u2022 Designs, implements, and evaluates security systems u2022 Contributes to security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management u2022 Supports the Government in providing technical leadership to engineering teams u2022 Recommends corporate solutions to resolve security requirements u2022 Supports the Government in enforcement of design / implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures Education and Experience: u2022 Twelve (12) years experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is required. u2022 Four (4) years of additional network engineering experience may be substituted for a bacheloru2019s degree. u2022 Five (5) years experience with the following Network Tools; Whatu2019s Up Gold and NetFlow. u2022 Five (5) years experience with the following SIGINT tools: Common View/Max View, Triton, and TUMMS. u2022 Three yearsu2019 experience with DCID 6/3 and/or ICD 503, u201cIntelligence Community Information Technology Systems Security Risk Management, Certification and Accreditationu201d, dated 15 September 2008 u2022 Three yearsu2019 experience creating firewall rule sets from analysis of network traffic u2022 Three yearsu2019 experience with component validation of security devices u2022 Three yearsu2019 experience integrating boundary solutions into customer networks u2022 Three yearsu2019 experience configuring switches, routers, and firewalls - ________________________________________________________________________________________ What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity.
