Summary This position is eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. This would include physician order entry for prescribing medications, laboratory and radiology requests. See patients in an inpatient and outpatient clinic setting. Evaluate, diagnose, consult, and order appropriate diagnostic studies; perform surgical and non-surgical dermatology procedures on the skin and certain skin lesions as appropriate on all adults who present with injuries or diseases of the skin. Assist in tele-dermatology along with other providers. Submit consult requests and patient notes into the Computer Patient Records System (CPRS). Provide timely documentation for new patient examinations and extensive follow-up visits. Review laboratory, radiology, procedures and consultation reports. Communicate normal and abnormal results to patients. Appropriately code all outpatient encounters. Completes encounters in a timely manner. Provide consultative series on patients referred from other sections of the hospital and/or affiliated VA outpatient clinics, and perform administrative functions and other tasks as assigned by the Chief of the Medicine Service. Attend hospitals assigned committees, section meetings, and other administrative functions. Maintain accurate data on all procedures. Prepare and update the policy and procedure manual for the department that complies with JCAHO guidelines. Provide guidance to Residents and Medical Students on rotation. Train other professional staff in the Dermatology section. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. Schedule subject to change based on facility needs.
