Description Fleet Preventative Maintenance Technician Job Type : Non-Exempt Pay : Competitive Hourly- 2nd Shift We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Fleet Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will be responsible for traveling with maintenance-related supplies to dispersed equipment and performing on-site maintenance activities on all machinery and vehicles, from heavy-lift equipment to light duty trucks. Your duties will include monitoring inventory, inspecting vehicles, and performing preventative maintenance. The role is planned for off-shift work. This can be flexible and can include nights and weekends. To succeed in this role, you should be physically and mentally fit and have a solid knowledge of basic mechanicu2019s tools, service, and diagnostic equipment. Our ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, with excellent communication and customer service skills. Mechanic Responsibilities: uf0b7 Communicate within our organization to coordinate and schedule PM activities in an efficient manner uf0b7 Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles uf0b7 Operate and inspect machines or vehicles to diagnose defects or functionality problems. Alert clients on issues that will prohibit their vehicles from passing inspection. uf0b7 Assemble mechanical components according to specifications. uf0b7 Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasksuf0b7 Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records, in written or electronic form uf0b7 Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary. uf0b7 Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to machine and vehicle users. uf0b7 Operate individually and within a team environment uf0b7 Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures; perform daily equipment inspections, as well as identify and assist in correcting unsafe conditions Mechanic Requirements: uf0b7 High school diploma or equivalent qualification. uf0b7 Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance scheduling uf0b7 Certification from a vocational school or trade school is preferred. uf0b7 A minimum of 2 years of journeyman level mechanic experience required uf0b7 In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems. uf0b7 Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving. uf0b7 Excellent communication and customer service skills. uf0b7 Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist and lifting below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of arms above and below shoulder, work extended periods of time in same position, perform duties in all climates i.e. weather, extreme temperatures, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 75 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment uf0b7 Valid drivers' license required. uf0b7 Must pass a background and/or Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check uf0b7 Must pass a pre-employment drug test We Offer: uf0b7 Secure, long-term employment uf0b7 Competitive wage and benefits package uf0b7 Training and development uf0b7 Opportunities for advancement uf0b7 OT available Other potential qualifications: uf0b7 Automotive Service Excellence Mechanics Certification (A.S.E Certification). uf0b7 Experience working on and/or repairing Hydraulic systems on fleet vehicles. uf0b7 Certification for Aerial Device Maintenance. Safety: Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally. + Able to identify job site hazards. + Exhibits and carries out cognitive problem-solving skills. + Able to read, comprehend, and visualize job build and all prints. + Works near/around energized, hazardous parts and equipment. + Exposed to traffic. + Works around excessive noise from machines (bore drill, backhoe, trencher, mini excavator, bucket trucks, digger derricks, concrete saw, jackhammers). + May be exposed to hot and cold environments, poisonous plants or reptiles, and stinging insects.
