+ Area of Interest: Patient Services + FTE/Hours per pay period: .7 + Department: Urgent Care- Walk-In Clinic + Shift: Thurs & Fri 8:00 am - 7:00 pm / Sat 8:00 am - 2:00 pm + Job ID: 175653 Overview SHIFT: Thurs & Fri 8:00 am - 7:00 pm / Sat 8:00 am - 2:00 pm The Experience Specialist is responsible for basic patient experience, ensuring a seamless experience for patients and visitors. The role extends a professional welcome, assists with paperwork, and guides patients to the appropriate departments. The role addresses general patient inquiries, answers the incoming calls and escalates urgent concerns to experience specialist leads. Responsibilities u2022 Greet patients and visitors and obtains accurate demographic and insurance information for office records. u2022 Obtain signatures on all forms pertinent to the patientu2019s current visit from the patient or family member who has authority to sign on behalf of the patient. u2022 Photocopy & scan insurance cards and driveru2019s license. u2022 Collect copayments, coinsurance, and past due balances at time of service. u2022 Refer patients who need financial assistance with their clinic/hospital bills to a Financial Advocate. u2022 Answers telephone calls promptly and accurately. Takes telephone messages and directs calls in appropriate and professional manner. u2022 Schedule and maintain patient appointments for provider and nurse schedules. u2022 Manage preregistration work queues. u2022 Retrieve, file, photocopy, or scan medical correspondence, reports and miscellaneous items, as requested. u2022 Collect payments, issue receiptu2019s and reconcile daily accounts receivable activity to prepare for daily deposits. u2022 Open and/or close clinic following specific guidelines of the individual clinic. u2022 Monitor supplies and forms to assure adequate stock and compliance. u2022 Complete all clinic medical record requests. u2022 Adhere to all confidentiality policies and procedures. u2022 Demonstrates initiatives to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations. u2022 Readjusts work assignments according to backlogs, absences, etc., and reports to leadership. u2022 Balance team and individual responsibilities. u2022 Be open and objective to otheru2019s views. u2022 Give and welcome feedback. u2022 Contribute to positive team goals. u2022 Put the success of the team above own interests. Qualifications Education: u2022 Graduate of high school or equivalent Experience: u2022 Previous healthcare experience u2013 Preferred u2022 Working knowledge of medical terminology and third-party payer is helpful License(s)/Certification(s): u2022 Valid driveru2019s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
