Job Summary: u2022 Performs nuclear medicine therapeutic and diagnostic procedures providing quality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation. Responsibilities: u2022 Maintains and operates cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images. u2022 Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical factors accurately. u2022 Orders, prepares, administers, and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols. u2022 Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines. u2022 Appropriately responds to any emergencies related to radioactive materials u2022 Maintain and follow accreditation protocols and procedures, work with management to maintain accreditation u2022 Maintain JCAHO standards as determined u2022 Assure appropriateness of procedure by reviewing the radiology order placed prior to performing exam. Should be able to explain procedure to the patient for their safety and comfort during exams u2022 Able to perform on all age groups from infant to adult/geriatric u2022 Other Duties as assigned Licensure / Certification / Registration: u00b7 Required Credential(s): One or more of the following: u00b7 Registered Nuclear Medical Tech specializing in Nuclear Medicine credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. u00b7 Must have NMTCB or ARRT certification. u00b7 Certified Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. u00b7 Must have NMTCB or ARRT certification. Education: u2022 Associateu2019s degree in an Allied Health program relating to Nuclear Medicine or completion of a one-year course of study in Nuclear Medicine Technology. Work Experience: u2022 Minimum one year experience in Nuclear Medicine Technology Imaging. u2022 Preferably w/ lead experience. We take great care of careers.
