Johnson VA Medical Center is located in Clarksburg, West Virginia is seeking a full-time Gastroenterologist to provide comprehensive care for patients who have illnesses within the scope of Gastroenterology. Responsibilities This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until March 31,2026. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applicants will be November 01,2025, with subsequent cut-off dates every month. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until positions are filled. Major Duties/Responsibilities: - Surgical procedures, with required expertise in in all areas of Gastroenterology including:- Proctoscopy and/or flexible sigmoidoscopy - Diagnostic upper gastrointestinal endoscopy - Esophageal dilation- Colonoscopy, including biopsy and polypectomy - Therapeutic upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy - Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy - Administration of Moderate Sedation - Supervision/teaching of surgical residents - Providing consultation in an outpatient clinic setting and on inpatient wards. - Participation in committees. - Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Surgery or Chief of Staff. On-call responsibilities as required. Contract Buy Out Program: This position may be eligible for the Physician / Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts (Locum agreements, loan repayments, sign-on bonus contracts, Physician-owned practices) in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years).
